We stayed in a Ocean View room, and Let me tell you that this location is the joyful concoction of nature's bliss, soul's isolation and modern conveniences. I am not really an optimist but this synergy of joy this place offers is rare. Being just a mile away from the most pristine beach playa hermosa, this place is a crafted coincidence surrounded by thick forest, plenty of toucans, Iguanas and Capuchins (that greet you every day) along with a splendid view of pacific from the top (We have shared a few pics we captured from our room). The restaurant and the rooms are all so closely located like a family mansion. The restaurant offers the best sunset and sunrise views you can imagine from a hill top. Dinner was authentic Italian and delicious.

We arrived at around 9PM and were welcomed with warmth. Franceska and Luka are always on their toes passionate to help you, provide you directions (if you are unplanned as we were). Luka is an amazing italian chef and do not miss the breakfast Omelette, and his homemade marmalade. The couple really know what they are doing and always strive to improve.

We want to thank Franceska specially for giving us a ride to Uvita town after we checked out. We are glad that we spent the last breakfast speaking with you, and your story is inspiring and exudes courage. We will definitely be back again during whale watching season soon.

No eticos, Nos sentimos engañados con los precios, ya que en el menu estan indicados en dolares y sin preguntar nos trajeron la cuenta en colones aplicando un cambio de 600 colones! (El dolar estaba a 558 compra y 560 venta en el Banco Nacional ese dia)
Y ojo, que los impuestos tampoco estaban incluidos, añadir un 23 %.
Dos frescos, una ensalada ridiculamente pequeña y dos principales 40.000 colones!
Sentimos que nos estafaron.

This is a MUST GO TO if you’re in or around the dominical/Uvita area! Food is absolutely top notch. Francesca, is Italian as well as her boyfriend and you can tell the food is authentically delicious. Simple, unpretentious, mouthwatering.oh! And the view! Incredible al fresco dining with views of the ocean. The drive up is in and of itself an incredible experience, just love this place. Just go!

Worst than we expected, I don't know who write this rewiews.
Small portions, simple food, and too much expensive for what you get.
We were the only customers in the restaurant, we had to get up to ask for napkins and drinks, while the italian man and women (the owner and waiter) were sitting in a hammock ignoring us!
We will never come back!

We went to the restaurant "Gusto". Fabulous! Must go! I cannot eat gluten and I had many options. The food was so good and the lady who runs the restaurant is so nice and welcoming. Highly recommend!

Fresh fish, toucans, howler monkeys and a spectacular view of the sea from both our luxurious king sized bed and and our private balcony. We can't say enough good things about Ranchos Remo, the whole experience was perfect.

Francesca and Luka are model hosts; accommodating, personable and friendly. They work very hard to ensure their guests have a great experience. We had no car and they even offered us rides to where we needed to go.

The attached open air restaurant (Gusto Italian) is fantastic as well! Delicious, reasonably priced meals with an expansive view of the Pacific. Fresh local fish is procured and served every day.

The bottom line.if you want a romantic, peaceful, beautiful place to stay in Uvita look no further.

Pensé que sería " otro italiano más con comida semidecente". Aluciné, comida exquisita y 100% casera. El mejor italiano en el que he estado junto con el Bistrot of Venice.
Increíble las vistas y los atardeceres desde la terraza.
Los dueños, matrimonio italiano muy majos, serviciales y profesionales. Así da gusto dejarte el dinero.
100% recomendable, ah me gusto mucho su perra Zoe.

Review for Gisto Italiano restaurant: Amazing home made Italian food. Absolutely delicious, can not recommend enough! My wife and I were two of four total people for a sunset dinner, so not crowded at all on a Sunday night. Awesome sunset to go with the food. Definitely recommend stopping by here if in the area.

Simply sweet hard working Italian yuppies who left highly taxed careers in Italy behind to live pura vida. They will go out of their way to create a special visit to this gem in the southern pacific coast. Be prepared for a few bugs but you can awake to an incredible view each morning and when paired with these gracious hosts' care and wonderful Italian food, will make for an unforgettable visit.

Fantastic hotel. New owners since december 2017. I think all the problems I've seen on other comments are solved. We had an incredible bedroom on the sea, incredible view, animals (tucan, monkeys, lots of different birds). The shower also has sea view. Bedding confortable. The restaurant also is very good, with real italian products. I highly recommend the place.

Great food. Chef came put and talked and joked with us. Very comfy location with an amazing view. Just be sure you can make it up the hill.

Excelente vista al mar, es un hotel de montaña con una increíble vista al mar, el servicio es de lo mejor, todo el personal te trata con mucho cariño y respeto. Super recomendado para pasar unas agradables vacaciones.
