Denise and staff were amazing. You feel like family when you are at Sol Y Mar. It is quiet but also tons of fun and entertainment from great bands to corn hole tournaments. Great place to unwind! Food and service were great. Biggest shrimp I have ever seen! Incredibly fair prices as well. Carla, Fatima, Kevin and Alandra (sorry about spelling) were fabulous. Will be heading back for sure! Capuchin monkeys rights across the street and lots of other beautiful wildlife.

From our first stop in Zancudo everyone we bumped into recommended Sol y Mar as THE place to be in Zancudo! We dropped in and were lucky enough to book 3 nights. After our first evening in the restaurant and bar we had a dozen new friends and the next 3 days full of plans, including a fishing trip for the day after we were supposed to leave. We booked 2 more nights! And then we had to add a sixth night or miss the big corn hole competition! We just never wanted to leave! Sol y Mar was the highlight of our 5 week Costa Rica trip! The setting is absolutely stunning, just steps away from the best walking beach in Costa Rica. Most mornings we saw only a couple of people! The rooms are clean and spacious, and the showers have amazing water pressure! The restaurant and staff are top notch! From live entertainment to horseshoes to corn hole to beautiful sunsets, it’s all here! Fatima and Carla bend over backwards to accommodate your every need. We thoroughly enjoyed meeting owner Denise who was able to get us on kayaks in the river and was an incredible hostess! You will not regret staying at Sol y Mar! We love this little piece of paradise so much!

Desde nuestra primera parada en Zancudo, ¡todos los que nos topamos recomendaron Sol y Mar como EL lugar para estar en Zancudo! Llegamos y tuvimos la suerte de reservar 3 noches. Después de nuestra primera noche en el restaurante y bar, teníamos una docena de nuevos amigos y los siguientes 3 días estaban llenos de planes, incluido un viaje de pesca para el día siguiente al que se suponía que íbamos. ¡Reservamos 2 noches más! ¡Y luego tuvimos que agregar una sexta noche o perdernos la competencia del gran hoyo de maíz! ¡Nunca quisimos irnos! ¡Sol y Mar fue lo más destacado de nuestro viaje de 5 semanas a Costa Rica! El entorno es absolutamente impresionante, a sólo unos pasos de la mejor playa para caminar de Costa Rica. ¡La mayoría de las mañanas solo vimos a un par de personas! Las habitaciones son limpias y espaciosas, y las duchas tienen una presión de agua increíble. ¡El restaurante y el personal son de primera categoría! Desde entretenimiento en vivo hasta herraduras, hoyos de maíz y hermosas puestas de sol, ¡todo está aquí! Fátima y Carla hacen todo lo posible para satisfacer todas sus necesidades. ¡Disfrutamos muchísimo conocer a la propietaria Denise, quien pudo llevarnos en kayaks en el río y fue una anfitriona increíble! ¡No te arrepentirás de alojarte en Sol y Mar! ¡Amamos tanto este pequeño pedazo de paraíso!

Great place. In a small village. Great menu, good drinks, can't beat the view. Live music often. Everybody knows everybody and they welcome you like you're old friends.
Everyone goes to the beach for sunset which is about 30 yards.

Great food and service! This was the first restaurant that my wife and I encountered while staying in Zancudo. First morning, We left our house and started walking down the beach and heard some music playing. We decided to take a peek and discovered this amazing a little restaurant. Our waitress spoke English, which is good because neither of us speak Spanish. She was both funny and prompt. The service was great, the food was really good, and the price made it all even better. I absolutely recommend stopping at Sol y mar If you end up visiting the small beach town.

Rick and Lori are so inviting! We just moved down and they made us feel at home. The food was great, Carla and Fatimaa were such fantastic waitresses.we will be back!

Had a good hamburger lunch. Went back for music in evening, great music and decent priced beer. 2 for 2600 ctc. Muy bueno

Loved this place, the owner taught me how to body surf, his wife is a really good cook. An excellent and varied menu.
I started everyday with coffee, an excellent breakfast and a fruit cocktail.

Playa Zancudo Beach it's a small town in the isolated south of the country and Sol y Mar definitely is the place to visit, eat and make friends. Great atmosphere in this area. I think is the most active place in the entire beach. About the food, is delicious and in the couple days we don not fail. I will like comeback soon to try my favorite fish soup, staff is friendly and helpful.

The food here is amazimg, so is the service.super friendly staff that take pride in their jobs.this beach front resort is the most peaceful resort ive ever been too

Muy bonito, un detalle a tomar en cuenta es la comida, muy cara y en nuestra experiencia insípida, muy mala la verdad.

The new owner has brought a sleepy beach hut into this age, giving it just the right vibe for locals and tourists alike. The beach facing bar, restaurant space and menu make for fun and comfortable experiences while keeping the cozy, at-home feel provided by its original owners. Newly re-opened, I trust this landmark establishment to quickly find its sea legs to become a destination for expats living in Costa Rica to enjoy a staycation without crossing a border.

Lugar bastante atractivo, frente a la playa, con una zona verde amplia refrescante y limpia. Las cabinas requieren un poco de mantenimiento, sin embargo, la limpieza es buenísima.
Cuanta con restaurante, platillos de buena calidad, el servicio de entrada no es el mejor pero conforme pasa el tiempo mejora, los precio me parecen un poco altos, pero hay que tomar en cuenta que la oferta de la zona no es amplia, el ambiente es muy bueno.
Es mi segunda oportunidad por Zancudo y a pesar que es lejos estoy seguro que volveré pronto.

Fuimos al restaurante y la comida estaba muy rica, el servicio es muy bueno, lo único es el cumplimiento de protocolos COVID no lo estaban siguiendo.
