¡Buen servicio! Si actúas diligentemente con su coche, ¡todo irá bien! Aceptan 3000US en su tarjeta de crédito. El coche estaba limpio y reciente. Todo el proceso para alquilar el coche fue claro y sencillo. Espere pagar alrededor de 25 dólares por día por el seguro de responsabilidad. Gracias, de nuevo por el servicio.

Harold fue maravilloso al prepararnos nuestra camioneta. Algunas de nuestras maletas las dejamos en el centro de alquiler y amablemente las guardaron durante la noche en la oficina para que las recogiéramos al día siguiente. El alquiler y el regreso fueron muy sencillos e incluyeron el transporte desde y hacia el aeropuerto hasta el centro externo.

Harold fue muy receptivo, servicial y fue un gran placer trabajar con él. No hay sorpresas. Alquilamos una furgoneta grande: Hyundai Staria. Un servicio de transporte nos recogió en el aeropuerto poco después de nuestra llegada y nos llevó de regreso al aeropuerto al final del viaje. ¡Altamente recomendado!

Reservado en línea todo fue muy bien. Estaba contento con el automóvil y estaba bien informado antes de su llegada sobre el seguro [que le costará más que la tarifa diaria del automóvil]. Gracias a Harold por hacer que la recogida y la devolución fueran muy agradables. Lo recomendaría sin duda.

¡Precaución! Tu tarifa será hasta un 50% más alta de lo que dice tu reserva. Si alquila un automóvil por primera vez en Costa Rica, sin pedir disculpas lo obligarán a comprar un seguro de responsabilidad civil a terceros. Reservé en línea a una tarifa de $400 por una semana y cuando llegué, resultó que mi reserva iba a tener más de $200 adicionales por el seguro 'requerido'. Aunque tengo varias capas de mi propio seguro, resulta que esto es una ley en Costa Rica. Cuando cuestioné fuertemente esta tarifa oculta y hablé con el gerente, fueron descorteses y cancelaron mi reserva, lo que me obligó a regresar al aeropuerto para tomar un taxi a la playa. No Pura Vida.

Tuvimos una experiencia horrible alquilando de esta empresa. Se suponía que el alquiler costaría 289 USD, pero terminamos pagando 1425 USD por cargos adicionales, incluidos aproximadamente 40 USD por día por el seguro de responsabilidad civil obligatorio (el doble de la tarifa promedio) y 600 USD por una placa robada. Cuando nos quejamos de la tarifa exorbitante por la matrícula robada, la persona que trabajaba en el mostrador amenazó con revocar nuestro servicio de transporte gratuito de regreso al aeropuerto. Toda la experiencia se sintió como una estafa (nuestro agente de seguros de tarjetas de crédito estuvo de acuerdo) e hizo que nuestro viaje comenzara y terminara con una nota amarga. Ojalá hubiéramos ido con una de las compañías en el aeropuerto.

Hemos estado alquilando autos de Payless en Liberia durante años y ¡siempre hemos tenido una gran experiencia! Accidentalmente alquilamos un automóvil demasiado pequeño, pero no hubo problema para actualizarlo y obtener uno más grande. Los autos siempre están limpios y el servicio es excelente.

El mejor lugar para rentar un auto, nuevos, del año, muy limpios y la mejor atención, muy personalizada por parte de todos los empleados, en especial por Harold González y Heiner

Terrific service. Got a big Mitsubishi for a group of 6 and it was clean and perfect. Picking up and dropping of was fast and easy. Couldn't have been happier with the rental.

Be warned, they will try to cheat you with up charges and insane insurance costs. They wanted $1000 non refundable for insurance and a $3000 deposit. People working here were very shady. No eye contact and acting strange. Went to another company and no issues. Do not rent here!

Absolutely abysmal customer service. My friends and I rented a car to take a weekend trip to a beach farther from our rental villa. We were told the car would be delivered at 9: 30 AM. The car did not arrive until 11: 15. When asked for compensation for the late arrival, they refused stating they are unable to give discounts. Upon driving the car for approximately 10 minutes, not even leaving our original town, we had a flat tire. We did not hit anything in the road that could have caused it. The company told us to change the tire ourselves and then stated they could bring another tire out to us “sometime later”. We changed the tire no problem, but the spare was in bad condition too. We instead decided to give up on the car entirely and return it. We asked them to pick it up at 4pm and they said they needed it back by 3pm to process a refund. They arrived to pick up the car at 3: 42pm.
Working with the manager or owner, Bryan, was horrific. He was difficult to communicate with and not understanding at all of our predicament. He would only reply “well you rented a very expensive car”. We ended up canceling all of our weekend plans for two full days because of this. 0/10 do not recommend. You’re better off borrowing a horse and riding it around, that would be more reliable.

Complete rip off! We were quoted for a rental for 5 days. When we got there the price was tripled, and they wanted to place a $3000 hold on our credit card. Very shady practices. Stay away!

I made an online reservation and the price was about US$ 5 per day (!).
I thought, this is impossible but I was expecting to pay 4x more.
When I arrived to the desk to pick up the car I found out the price was 10 times higher. When I asked for explanations the attendant replied "it is due to the insurance".
WHAAT? You're kidding me? ! You wanna make me believe the insurance earns 9/10 of the rental cost? !
Of course not!
First. All the cars are already insured.
So, don't tell me the money is for the insurance.
Second. Who earns in this business, the rental company or the insurance company?
This is a common problem in Costa Rica and a real shame.

I’ve rented with 5-6 different companies around Liberia airport and Payless is the best. They called me the day before to confirm reservation, had someone at the airport to meet me, had great pricing, and friendly service. It’s important to note - there is a mandatory liability insurance that is not usually included in quote online. This is not a scam, it’s a legitimate cost that’s mandated by government. Every agency will charge it. Most bad reviews are because people don’t understand that this is the case. Highly recommend the guys at Payless.

If I could give them 0 STARS I would. I have visited Costa Rica several times and each time we have rented a car but not from Payless. This place should be named pay MORE. We rented online for 26 days and the cost was suppose to be a little over $800.00. When I arrived the desk attendant informed that this was a mistake and that have been having a lot of problems with online orders and that my cost would be $2400.00 due to the increase in my daily cost and the liability insurance. I was so livid that I ask them to take me back to the airport so that I can choose another company. He then said he would reduce it by a few dollars but then reserved an addition 1000.00 as a hold on my credit card. This is one big scam for people traveling and it is so unfortunate because the country is beautiful and so are the people. I was traveling alone and my husband was not able to fly in with me on this day. I really think they purposely took advantage, I was not going to let it ruin my trip however I would NEVER EVER recommend anyone to go through PAYLESS unless you want to PAY MORE! Absolutely horrible. So disappointing.

Dont waste your time in this place. They don't rent cars, they sell insurance and when you have a problem with the car they said the insurance won't cover the damages. It is a total rip off. Never again in this company. They show low prices but believe me you will end up paying a lot lot more

I have rented a 4x4 here three times, and each experience was good. It’s a 5-10 minute shuttle drive west of the airport. They pick you up and drop you off. Look for someone holding a sign to the left after you exit the airport. No need to take a taxi. The cars are not new, but they work well for what you will need. Gas is the same price at all stations, so fill up at the closest one when you are done. There are several gas stations within 10 miles.

Beware, the price you pay will be far more than the price that shows up on travel websites. Insurance is not included in those quotes. Read up about the insurance requirements in Costa Rica. You must pay for liability coverage. They will also try to sell you collision coverage for the rental car. That is optional. If you decline that, be sure you have other coverage. Some credit cards cover international car rental collision insurance. Be sure it is international coverage well before your trip.

Horrible service for expensive garbage cars. Harold is extremely rude. Absolutely the worst experience I’ve ever had at a car rental location abroad. Don’t rent here. Don’t waste your time. Don’t waste your time. Rent from the airport it’s better, faster, and better service and closer to the airport? Just be deposit ready.

Bryan was very helpful. I accidentally booked a manual car and was wanting an automatic. They did not have any at their place so he was nice enough to help us get one through another company.

We paid 700 for the car for seven days, no limitations on mileage, with a 300 dollar deposit which we got back. They were so helpful and speedy, getting us from the airport and getting us checked out quickly. We had a nice four wheel drive SUV. I can’t remember the name of the two men who helped us, but maybe they can chime in on this review and remind us. They were wonderful. We always enjoy our time in Costa Rica, and we will continue to rent cars through them, and refer them to anyone who travels.
